Dr David Going
(M B, Ch B, Dip Ger Med, FRNZCGP) Principal GP

Not taking on new patients currently.

David is the principal GP at Peninsula Medical and is also the owner of the practice. He has considerable experience as a GP having practiced in Te Atatu Peninsula since 1983. He has special interests in family medicine, men’s health, geriatric medicine and the ear, nose, and throat (ENT) specialty. David also is the doctor caring for residents of CHT St Margarets hospital in Te Atatu Peninsula, which he has done for the best part of 30 years.

Dr Carolynn Moore 
(M.B. Ch.B., Dip. Paediatrics, FRNZCGP)


Not taking on new patients currently.

Carolynn has been part of the Peninsula Medical family for over 15 years. With a Diploma in Paediatrics, Carolynn has many years of GP experience and is skilled in all areas of general practice. She enjoys healthcare for the whole family and has developed a further interest in alcohol and drug rehabilitation.

Dr Richard Busfield



Richard is a very experienced GP having worked for nearly 20 years in General Practice in Auckland. Richard also has extensive experience in all areas of women’s health having worked for some years with one of New Zealand’s top gynaecology Professors. In his cheerful way you will find Richard to be thorough and considerate. He has a great love of sport, in particular football.

Dr Inga Minina

Dr Inga Minina joined Peninsula Medical in December 2021.

She enjoys all aspects of primary healthcare, with interests in holistic medicine and preventative health. She is particularly passionate about working with children and women. Aside from English she is fluent in Russian.


Outside of work she leads an active life, exploring outdoor activities, swimming, and dancing. She also likes art, cooking and reading books.

Dr Shelley Yip
(MB ChB)


Shelley graduated from University of Auckland in 2002.  She has an interest in general medicine and sub specialities of adult medicine during her training in hospitals in Auckland.  She was involved medical research in diabetes and bariatric surgery for several years before her career in general practice.  She has also worked for urgent care medical clinics.  She is working towards fellowship with the GP college.


She has three active boys, and enjoys taking them to outdoor adventures. She can speak Mandarin and Cantonese.

Dr Venu Shah


Venu trained in India and has worked as a doctor for more than twenty years. She is a member of the Royal New Zealand College of GPs and has more than ten years of experience working in the NZ health system. She brings experience and passion to her work and is comfortable in all areas of care with additional expertise in the areas of chronic diseases, paediatric & geriatric patients and women's health issues. 


She likes tramping, cooking and spending time with her family.

Dr Akanksha Bhargava
(MB ChB, BHB, Dip Child Health, FRNZCGP)


Akanksha grew up and has trained in New Zealand and then obtained her General Practice Fellowship in Australia where she practiced prior to moving back home this year. She has several years of experience in General Surgery and Paediatrics (child health) and has achieved additional qualifications in Paediatrics and Skin Cancer Medicine. She has pursued her interest in the management of Skin Cancers being an accredited GP with Waitemata DHB skin lesion service.


Akanksha is welcoming new patients. You will find that she is notably knowledgeable, engaging and an excellent communicator. In addition to English, Akanksha is also fluent in Hindi.

Dr Mohan Chitgopeker

(MBBS, FRNZCGP, Dip Sports Medicine, Dip Ophthalmology)


Dr Mohan has been a GP since 1991, in New Zealand and Australia. He is working as a long term Locum at Peninsula Medical since end of 2020.

He has extensive experience in minor surgical procedures including Vasectomies. His experience in ophthalmology, sports medicine, and Joint injections compliments the GP service he provides. He is also certified in cosmetic injectables, such as Botox and Fillers. He has special interests in managing Chronic disease such as Diabetes and Cardiovascular conditions in addition to mental health need.

Mohan enjoys playing golf, photography, cooking and pursues a passion to play the piano.
